The Hands-On Parent is Mid-Missouri's family-friendly publication and it's unlike anything ever offered before.
Each FREE issue presents stories and features designed to keep parents, grandparents and caretakers
informed of issues vital to the growth and development of children.
"We're not a 'how-to' guide or an instruction manual on raising your child," explains Martin W. Schwartz, editor of
The Hands-On Parent. "There's nothing black-and-white in our approach. We won't try to tell you what's right and
what's wrong. What we will share with you are stories about what has worked for other parents. We'll have health
and medical issues discussed by qualified professionals. And we'll have a little fun along the way. The best way
to describe our magazine is a support group in print for mothers, fathers and anyone who cares for and about
children in our community."
The Hands-On Parent is not designed to look pretty on a coffee table. We're not interested in producing a
scholarly thesis and neither will we insult anyone's intelligence by "writing down" to her. Our magazine is written
to be read. And the responses we get from our readers tell us that is exactly what is happening. "Cover to cover" is
a phrase we're getting used to hearing and we wouldn't have it any other way.
